The 'Bangiya Hindu Jagaran Manchan' organized a massive protest rally in Kolkata on Tuesday to condemn the brutal lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. The march commenced from near Sealdah Big Bazar and proceeded towards the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission. Protesters raised slogans demanding immediate justice and protection for the minority Hindu community in the neighboring country, following the horrific incident in Mymensingh where the young garment worker was killed and his body set on fire.
A delegation from the Manchan submitted a memorandum to the Bangladesh High Commission, urging the interim government to ensure the exemplary punishment of those involved in the mob violence. The organization highlighted that such incidents are not just attacks on individuals but on human rights and democratic values. They expressed deep concern over the "digital-age barbarism" where the killing was filmed and shared online while thousands allegedly watched or participated in the piteous act.

However, the protest turned chaotic as protesters broke through police barricades and staged a sit-in near the commission. Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd. Agitators called upon international bodies like the United Nations and the International Human Rights Commission, as well as the Government of India, to intervene directly to stop the systematic persecution of minorities in Bangladesh.
